Well.. If I am understanding you correctly... I would imagine that it would have a great effect on literature as a direct result of all of the above. Authors included, as art and literature are two main components that bring humanity together and divide us at the same time. They are means of expression and means of distinction through preferences and opinions. We are defined by our opinons and preferences to a certain extent are we not? And through them, we make break and create history. It's like those who love Roger Waters and those who love David Gilmore and some even prefer Syd Barrett.... Phil Collins or Peter Gabriel? It is art and it is history and it is essentially, all the same thing classified and devided by human perception and opinion. Think about how much Religion has changed over the centuries. Everything is all about humanity... Culture and history and religion follows humanity because without us, it wouldn't exist. So naturally as man evolves (If thats what you want to call it these days?) times change and everything else follows suit. Even Religion which is supposed to be unchangeable. Man finds a way to do it though! Religion is supposed to be timeless because in each one of them there is a text, a guidebook that only slightly changes through translation and word of mouth through preaching and perspectives and takes on one true thing. It is history... already happened and yet man, through his perceptions and opinions can change even that! Man can take anything and change it... That is why we are most like God. No other creature can do that but us. Arts and literature are what make us human, qualities and characteristics of humanity so to speak. I would imagine that means that both takes on heaven and hell were correct because as a man thinks... so is he! Just like God. Makes one wonder how much of our lives truely is relative and how much circumstance, even on a global level is brought about by humanity through its perceptions, opinions and preferences. Something as simple as a thought can create, divide and destroy all of which change the scenery drastically! An intentional avenue for those in the know that would aid them in doing such a thing intelligently and with purpose... would be through writing a book and having it read by millions of people. To understand what I mean... Read Joseph Campbell's take on James Joyce where he explains true art and pornographic art and how it effects and moves man through life and history. And also, to gain perspective, read a little black paperback called Finite and Infinite games. By: James P. Carse. in these pages are the answers to all of your questions... In a long drawn out kind of round the bend way... Sorry to give you MORE reading when you're pressed for time already but I do not believe in giving someone all of the answers... You should want to completely exhaust yourself in trying to figure this out for yourself. Yes... It is very important in the big scheme of things~ I hope I understood what you were asking? And I hope this helped somewhat? I do tend to ramble...
A fascinating biography that is getting a lot of attention is Ibn al-Haytham: First Scientist by Bradley Steffens. It tells the inspiring, true story of a medieval Muslim scholar who overcame bouts of mental illness to develop the scientific method two hundred years before the Europeans learned of it—by reading his books. The development of the scientific method changed not just science, but the general standard of knowledge and truth. The book was just chosen by California Readers to be part of the 2008 California Collection. You can find reviews of the book and a sample chapter at http://www.ibnalhaytham.net
I am a writer who uses these words. I have not looked into the dictionary -- will just tell you my own concept. To me, Culture has more historical depth to it (a time factor) and is very, very broad although applying to a particular group. It means the style or styles of that group in virtually every endeavor, especially as these have been handed down over the generations. Includes Art, Teaching, Construction, Schooling, Religion, Cuisine, Dress, Literature, Science, Mores, .... On the other hand, the word Society has much more to do with governmental structures. Yes, these have some depth in time too, but I think more about laws, norms of behavior, constitutions, solemn compacts, associations, subunits, family, men, women, labor, clergy, clubs, NGOs, city, county, state, commonwealth, common purpose, rules of order, reform objectives -- all things social and having to do with somewhat more abstract concepts than culture does. But I do admit of some blending as between these two. Multi-cultural societies exist: USA Someone can be 'socially uncultured' -- probably describing me at an early age. Hmmmm. I think this is enough, except to say that a Society can be brand new, as USA once was. But Culture has very deep roots, and is almost never new, unless some tragic event occurs such as in Lord of the Flies, where people have to really start from scratch. Missing a transmission of knowledge and style, a new culture -- IF THEY SURVIVE.
Wow, you're a real throw-back! Don't you know Communism was thwarted 20 years ago? There are those in America who see the world as black and white; good and evil. To these people Communists, Abortionists, Illegal aliens, Homosexuals, Muslims and General criminals are the Bad guys. True blooded Americans, some Europeans (especially the English), and a handful of other allies around the Globe are the Good guys. It them against us, and the moment a liberal gets into office the Good guys relax a bit and the Evil ones start subverting us from the inside out. Communism is the link to all the evil, and all these other phenomena link back to it. Communists started the gays, and Islam didn't ya know? To restore America to its previous greatness we must have a big epic war, where the good guys get the bad guys, and for once freedom and liberty shine to all dark corners of the Earth. Then Jesus will ride down on his pale white horse, and bring heaven to Earth and then... Ya right...
Maybe because history like art is subject to different interpretations depending on the point of view or philosophy of the person(s) looking at it. Also there are numerous painting depicting historical events that are the visual records of these events. History encompasses so many aspects of human endeavours that include book, author, philosophy, genealogy etc. maybe they felt that where it should be. Who knows, the only way you will really know why it is there is to ask Yahoo Q A yourself. If you get an answer from them, tell us what their reason(s) are for doing this. Good Luck on this quest Don Quixote. Have fun tilting at those windmills.
Cellphone, CD or DVD, credit card, empty motor oil bottle (like Havoline or Quaker State, etc.). Hope that helps.
yes most people are getting crazier and become slave of their wrong needs and wants in life.by informing the people about the negative effects of most activities, the tendency to havenegative effects might be possible.
I guess the level of acceptance for new Science and technology of a society play an important role to encourage more new development and new discovery in what we have today. For example, during the Renaissance, in Europe, people were able to afford reading materials with the introduction of new printing machinery. As a result, people in Europe are able to build upon the knowledge from different parts of the world for example, India, Arabs and the Chinese etc. When people have access to these reading materials, people like Leornado Da Vinci and Pascal and many other scientists will be able to built upon those knowledge and introduce us to a new level of scientific discovery. Like what Sir Newton said, he was able to discover his many great findings because he is standing on the shoulders of the giants.
--Culture: Patterns of human activity and the symbolic structures that give these activities meaning/significance. It includes beliefs, values, additudes, etc. It manifests itself in music, literature, painting, theater, film, food lifestyles. It is acquired over time. For example: Regaae music is part of the (music) culture in Jamaica; in Iraq, cultural attitudes dictate that women should wear head scarves and/or burqas. --Society: A group of people characterized by common interests. They are distinguished from other groups of people by their shared interests, goals, values, attitudes, and beliefs. This doesn't mean they all need to live together--sometimes a society constitues people living all over who share common beliefs/values, like Judeo-Christian, Eastern or Western. It can also refer to an organization--like a society of bird watchers.

yes, there're 2 reasons: 1. actually Taiwan preserves more pure Chinese culture than mainland, I guess it's due to culture revolution and communists take over.....it destroys the traditional culture. 2. Taiwan was occupied by Japanese for 50 years, so it has some Japanese influence.

Karl Marx is a fascinating individual who worked to set humanity free from the chains of capitalism. He set forth several important ideas depicting the problems of capitalism and the solution. Here are a few of his important contributions to the world. First: Alienation Marx dealt with the alienation of society. Alienation occurs when people do not feel connected to their life or their own humanity. The cause of this, in many cases, is the way in which people work. In the 19th century, as well as today, many people would sell their labor to an employer and the employer would decided how to use this labor. Consider this; if you wanted to sell a car to someone else, the two of you would negotiate a settlement that you would both agree upon. The buyer would not simply say, give me the car at this price or else, and yet that is what occurs in the labor market. Laborers sell their labor, their product, but they are unable to negotiate how their labor will be used. The domination of the means of production by a few capitalists forces laborers to take whatever job they are given, regardless of pay or benefits. The end result is alienation; the laborer feels more like an object than a human being, because he is treated like an object by the capitalist. Also, consider this point; if employees and laborers are considered objects to be used at the will of the capitalist, what prevents a person from looking at other members of society as objects? If two people are walking down the street and the first person robs the other because he views the second person as an object and a means to make some money, how is this different than the capitalist robbing the laborer? Humanity becomes objectified under capitalism. Second: Surplus Labor and Surplus Value The concept of surplus labor states that while a laborer may work 10 hours in a day, he may only see the benefit of an hour of work; his minimum wage. During the whole day, the worker is producing goods or some other product which may then be sold. The profits from these products then go to the capitalist, not the actually producer. Why should anyone work hard if they are not going to see the full benefit of their work? The United States is a perfect example of this concept in action; Americans spend more time at work, while getting less done, than in other industrialized nations. Marx proposed a system where everyone in business or company owned the means of production jointly. Marx never suggested that the government would own all property, such as homes. When workers owned the means of production jointly, they would have control over who would be their boss and other important decisions. People would be paid based on the amount of work done, quality as well as quantity of work done, the social necessity of the work, and the amount of training or schooling a person had received. This concept is laid out quite clearly in Das Kapital. Marx never said a doctor would make the same as a janitor. In fact, this would be anti-Marxist, because it would lead to alienation, as a described above. The end result of this system is people would be paid for the work they did, it would encourage people to work hard, and a few people at the top of the corporate ladder would not get rich based on the hard work of employees. Bosses and leaders would be paid more as more responsibility is accepted, but not at the rates that can be seen in the United States today. Third: Dictatorship of the Proletariat This is one of the most misunderstood concepts in Marxist thought. In Marxism, all forms of the state are considered dictatorships. Democracy is a dictatorship, because it ensures the survival of the bourgeoisie and prevents the proletariat from coming to power, or in other words, it prevents people from having a say in how their government is run. The dictatorship of the proletariat is simply the reverse of the present systems. Instead of a small minority being in control, the masses would come to power. This power would be exercised through bodies (in Russia they were called soviets, although the true soviet was disposed of by Stalin) that would be both legislative and executive. Delegates would be elected by universal suffrage and be paid the wage of an average worker to prevent officials from becoming corrupt or from becoming out of touch with the people. Delegates would also be easily removable if any delegate violated the will of the people. The end result of this dictatorship of the proletariat is the withering away of the state, where the state plays less and less a role in the lives of the people, and therefore, the dictatorship of the state, whether proletariat, democratic, or whatever, would cease to exist. While no other user has given a correct answer, Tomba's answer is the most incorrect. Criticism and self-criticism was never a part of Marxist thought and developed during the Chinese revolution in the 1920's. Furthermore, China is no longer considered communist even by most capitalists, the reason being, the Chinese Communist Party rejected Maoism following Mao Zedong's death. While no-one came out an condemned Mao in the same manner that Khrushchev condemned Stalin, Mao's policies have been reversed and severely criticized. One must also understand that Mao largely ignored Marxism, particularly on the important issue of the peasant revolution. Marx, as well as Lenin and Trotsky in Russia, rejected the peasant revolution because the peasantry cannot form an independent political movement. The peasantry will either align itself with the proletariat or the bourgeoisie, but it cannot form a stable communist government. I would suggest to Tomba that he actually do research before saying something so idiotic. Why does the United States do so much business with China? because China has become the perfect capitalist country: the fascist country.
The more money the more buildings, the bigger they are, and the more permanently built they are.
In a bad way... really.. But not in the beginning... Ulysses and other have contributed to rise the will to discover and conquest other lands... Later on... Greeks thought they were invincible!... so strong they was... And finally... Where is the so big Empire of Greece? Lays down under the time run out.... This is the way humanity uses to be... Guess I gave a help with a point to follow in your essay.....
1. Religion is very important in society because even though everyone believes something different, it still keeps people in order. Anyone who's ever heard of God, knows that it is a sin to murder, steal, cheat, all of that. So majority of society is scared to act upon certain crimes in fear of the unknown (hell). 2.In a big degree. Because no matter where you go, you'll always hear something about some sort of religion. It could be door to door solicitation for churches, over the radio, the television, the computer, jewelry, t-shirts, billboards, flyers. Religion is everywhere, alot of people neglet the oppurtunity to broaden their senses about other religion. But no matter where you go, its embeded in our culture, heavily. 3. Its not a question if we rely on religion to define our culture, it is our culture. No matter what kind of family you come from, you will always have some sort of belief in something. It could be God,Buddah,Alah,The Sun anything. But whatever you believe in, molds your mind to think a certain way. It narrows the people you hang out with , it chooses the way you dress, the way you speak, and the way you think. So we rely heavily on religion to define our culture HOPE I HELPED!!
Move away from that strict culture. Go to Canada or the Netherlands where anything goes.
